Adam is a Specialist Abdominal Surgeon with a special interest in Diseases of the oesophagus and stomach as well as Obesity or Bariatric surgery. Most procedures are done using keyhole surgery with short hospital stays.
Born and bred in Melbourne’s Northern Suburbs, Adam trained at the Austin Hospital before heading to the UK for sub speciality training in Upper Gastro Intestinal and Bariatric surgery, where he worked with the world-renowned Shaw Somers at Princess Alexandra Hospital in Portsmouth. Adam runs a multidisciplinary clinic with dietitians, exercise physiologists, psychologists and a full time Bariatric Nurse. Adam performs both primary and revisional obesity surgery with a high-volume practice. He is also trained in Robotic surgery.
Adam participates in the Bariatric Surgery Registry and maintains a strong research focus.
In addition to this Adam has an interest in Hernia, reflux and Gallbladder surgery. Interventional endoscopy is also performed with a dedicated endoscopy list at Warringal.
With rooms in Heidelberg and being local, he is available at short notice for emergencies.
