Your Stay at Warringal Private Hospital
Accommodation
There are single and shared rooms. Every effort is made to accommodate you in the room of your choice. If your preference is not available at the time of admission, your request will be met as soon as possible. All single rooms have a private ensuite.
Chaplains/Clergy
Local clergy visit Warringal Private Hospital regularly. If you wish to arrange a visit, please ask your nurse.
Coffee Shop
Our coffee lounge is located on the ground level (known as 1st level), in the Warringal Medical Centre.

Snacks, sandwiches, pies, light refreshments, newspapers, magazines are available.
Department of Veterans’ Affairs Liaison Officer
We have a DVA liaison officer who is happy to be contacted. Please ask your nurse who will assist you to contact them.

Available on request.
Lost Property
Each ward has a nominated area for property inadvertently left by patients. Please contact the appropriate ward to gain information regarding any missing belongings.
Mail, fax
Patients can send and receive mail and faxes. Mail received after you leave will be forwarded to your home address.
Mobile Phones
When you are admitted please ask our staff if mobiles can be used in your room. Mobiles may be used in all public areas including the coffee shop. Warringal Private Hospital does not accept any responsibility for loss or damage to your mobile phone.
Newspapers and magazines
Newspapers and magazines are available from the coffee shop located on the ground level of the hospital.
Parking
Patients can park on hospital grounds at any time. If the car park appears full, please speak to the car park attendants. There is car parking available at the front of the hospital for drop-off and pick-up, and disabled parking. If you are being discharged in a wheelchair, the person collecting you can pick you up via the Ambulance Bay, which is accessed from the hospital car park.
Please ask the nurse or ward clerk for advice in regard to accessing this.
Patient Privacy
Warringal complies with the Privacy Act 1988, including the way we collect, store, use and disclose health information. A patient record will be kept detailing your illness and treatment. This is confidential and access is limited only to the health care professionals directly involved in your treatment. Your record will remain the property of the hospital. The contents will be divulged only with your written consent or where justified by law.
It may be necessary for parts of your medical record to be disclosed to other medical professionals to provide your treatment, or during activities necessary to operate our hospital (eg. to your health fund, DVA, the supplier of your prosthesis, to our insurer, to an external company contracted by Ramsay Health to evaluate customer satisfaction).
Pharmacy
The Pharmacy Department is located within the hospital to service both patient and hospital requirements.
The Pharmacy Department's operational hours are as follows:
8.00am to 6.00pm Monday to Friday
8.00am to 1.00pm Saturdays
8.30am to 11.30am Sundays & Public Holidays
Due to government regulations, the pharmacy can only dispense prescription medication for patients receiving treatment “in or at” Warringal Private Hospital, including medication for patients upon discharge.
Smoking
Smoking is not allowed inside the hospital.
Special Diets
We can cater for special dietary requirements – please notify staff in the ward or write this on the menu.
Telephones
There is a phone beside every bed and there are public phones on each floor. Local calls are complimentary. Phone cards available for purchase to make STD calls and calls to mobiles. STD, International calls are not charged to your account. See mobile phones.
Television
There is a television for every bed.
Valuables
We recommend that all your valuables be sent home as the hospital accepts no liability for items of value and cash brought into the hospital. Small items can be lodged in the hospital safe. This safety deposit facility is available at your request and arrangements for deposits may be made through your nursing staff. Do not leave items and cash unattended in your room
