Mr Ahmad Aly is a General Surgeon with an interest in upper gastrointestinal surgery.
He trained at the Austin Hospital, Melbourne and completed subspecialist fellowships in Adelaide and the U.K gaining experience in the full spectrum of upper gastrointestinal surgery before returning to Melbourne as a consultant in 2005.
Ahmad is the Head of Upper GI Surgery at the Austin Hospital, and Clinical Associate Professor with Melbourne University.
Ahmad provides an enthusiastic and dedicated surgical and consultative service in:

- Upper Gastrointestinal Surgery
- Endoscopy
- Bariatric Surgery (Lap Banding, Gastric Sleeve and Gastric Bypass)
He is experienced in advanced laparoscopic surgery including hernia repair, gallbladder and pancreatic disease and benign oesophageal and gastric disorders. He has particular interest in reflux disease, Barretts and oesophageal and gastric cancer.
Ahmad is also a highly experienced surgeon in the area of weight loss and practices Bariatric Surgery with a personally developed dedicated multidisciplinary team (Darebin Weight Loss Surgery).
