David Proud is a General Surgeon who has trained in Australia and internationally. He consults in Heidelberg with rooms adjacent to both the Austin Hospital and Warringal Private Hospital.
After receiving his medical degree from Monash University he went on to complete training in general surgery at the Alfred Hospital in Melbourne. He received his Fellowship in General Surgery from the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2016.
David has completed Post-Fellowship training in Colorectal Surgery with the Colorectal Surgical Society of Australia and New Zealand (CSSANZ) that included fellow positions at St Vincent’s University Hospital in Dublin (Ireland) and at the Austin Hospital. From September 2023, Dr Proud has also been appointed as Acting Head of Unit (Colorectal Surgery) at the Austin Hospital.
David is available for urgent appointments to deal with conditions such as perianal haematoma. The in-office procedure room is available for immediate treatment of this condition where practicable.
