Having grown up in Melbourne, I graduated in Medicine and Medical Science from the University of Melbourne in 1994. I have an interest in hand surgery, including common paediatric hand conditions. Apart from the remaining Plastic Surgical gamut of skin cancer, burns, head and neck reconstruction, maxillofacial, microsurgery, pressure injuries and cosmetic surgery, I am a proponent of evidence-based medicine (EBM), and Wide Awake Local Anaesthetic No Tourniquet (WALANT) surgery. All of this experience helps me to work out what will work best for you, your condition, and your circumstances.
In addition to clinical practice, I also enjoy teaching junior doctors and Plastic Surgery trainees at Austin Health, and through the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS) where I am a member of the Surgical Skills Training committee. I also teach medical students through the University of Melbourne.
Outside the hospital and consulting rooms, you will likely find me riding a bicycle (the kind with a human motor) or practising my German, perhaps even simultaneously, as I watch my children growing up in Melbourne, alongside my gorgeous wife.
