Mr Franklin Pond is a Vascular Surgeon with a special interest in minimally invasive procedures. Mr Pond graduated from The University of Melbourne Medical School and commenced training in General Surgery at St Vincent’s Hospital and Monash Medical Centre. He then engaged in Advanced Vascular Surgery training for a further four years.
Professional memberships include the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS), Australian and New Zealand Society for Vascular Surgery (ANZSVS), and Melbourne Vascular Surgical Association (MVSA).
Mr Pond is a tutor and past clinical examiner of undergraduate Medicine at The University of Melbourne. He is the Deputy Director of Vascular Surgery and Supervisor of Surgical Training at Western Health.
Mr Franklin Pond performs:
1/ endovenous techniques and sclerotherapy for varicose veins,
2/ endovascular intervention for aneurysms,
3/ angioplasty stenting for occlusive arterial conditions, and
4/ dialysis access for renal patients.
He also performs open vascular reconstructive surgery.
