Dr Patwinder Gill obtained her medical degree at Monash University in 2008. Whilst completing her surgical training at Royal Melbourne Hospital, and developed an interest in upper GI and hepatobiliary surgery.
Following completion of her surgical training, Dr Gill undertook a year of fellowship in Hepatobiliary Surgery at Royal Melbourne Hospital which provided skills to manage complex surgical patients and built on the skills for minimally invasive surgery.
Furthering her interest through a second fellowship in minimally invasive Upper GI and Bariatric Surgery in Tweed Heads Hospital and John Flynn Private Hospital, refining her skills in laparoscopic hiatal hernia repair, laparoscopic inguinal and ventral hernia repair and commenced her training in bariatric surgery. Dr Gill's third fellowship year in Bariatric Surgery, at Box Hill Hospital focused on minimally invasive bariatric surgery, including revision bariatric surgery at this dedicated and high volume centre.
Dr Gill is experienced in sleeve gastrectomy, gastric bypass surgery and single anastomosis duodenal ileostomy (SADI/SIPS) procedures. She also performs minimally invasive procedures such as laparoscopic inguinal hernia and ventral hernia repairs, cholecystectomies (gallbladder surgery), hiatus hernia repairs and small bowel resections.
